Last month, three SPOTeurope board members had the opportunity to attend international conferences across Europe. The president, Kira, took part in a congress in Germany. Angela, the ENOTHE Student Board Member, attended a conference in Alicante, Spain. And our Outreach Coordinator, Katerina, participated in a congress held in Greece. Each of them is excited to share their experiences and key takeaways from these inspiring events.
SPOTeurope at the German OT congress 2025 (DVE Congress)
This year, I had the opportunity to attend the Congress of the German OT Association (DVE)over the course of three days in Würzburg, representing SPOTeurope as its president. I was hosted by our partner organisation, the German OT student association BLV, at their information stand.
With a SPOT poster on display and flyers in hand, I talked to numerous German OT students, engaging in conversations about SPOT and our mission. Through in-person activities like congresses and workshops, we aim to promote internationalisation amongst OT students across Europe, and expand the SPOT community in the process.
Speaking of networking, it is always fun to reconnect with familiar faces from past ENOTHE Annual Meetings or last year’s OT-Europe Congress, and to stay informed about the latest developments in the German OT community. This year, two ENOTHE board members were also present, which lead to a spontaneous ENOTHE and SPOT meet-up in Germany.
I look forward to meeting more of you guys, the SPOT community, in Coimbra for the ENOTHE Annual Meeting, later this year!

SPOTeurope at the Congreso Internacional de Estudiantes de Terapia Ocupacional (CIETO)
Hi everyone! I’m Angela, a fourth-year Occupational Therapy student from Spain and current Student Board Member at SPOTeurope and ENOTHE.
This month I attended the International Occupational Therapy Student Congress or Congreso Internacional de Estudiantes de Terapia Ocupacional (CIETO) in the province of Alicante (Spain), an annual congress organized by fellow students at Miguel Hernández University (UMH) with supervision from our professors where both occupational therapy (OT) students, educators and practitioners are able to share spaces, and with that their experiences and knowlege.
During my time at the congress I was able to learn from both national and international keynote speakers, as well as attend the differnt student sessions and the selected workshop included in the registration. Moreover, I had the pleasure of meeting differnt groups of students both based in Spain and other countries, creating an atmosphere for diversity and exchange. Lastly, this year I had the opportunity to be at the SPOTeurope stand at this congress on days 2 and 3, allowing me to represent SPOTeurope in order to reach both students and professors so that more people can benefit from our activities and resources, welcoming everyone to join our community.
Hope this captured my experience at the congress, see you around next time!

SPOTeurope at the 8th Panhellenic OT Congress
The 8th Panhellenic Occupational Therapy Congress concluded successfully, leaving us with a wealth of emotions and invaluable experiences.
I had the honor of representing minispot UoWM in my role as president and presenting our research project titled:
“Participation of Individuals Diagnosed with Mental Disorders in Daily Life and the Community: Inclusion and Occupational Justice.”
This experience highlighted the power of collaboration and the importance of academic support within the student community. The congress provided fertile ground for the development of new partnerships and future challenges, strengthening our shared vision for a more inclusive and socially just field of occupational therapy.
